Dirham (Bronze, 24 mm, 2.73 g, 1 h), Mardin, AH 542 or AH 543 = AD 1147/8 or AH 1148/9. Diademed, draped and bearded bust to right; behind and before bust, blundered latin legend; in outer margin, mint and date in Kufic. Rev. 'Timurtash ibn / il-Ghazi ibn Artuq / al-Malik al-adil'; in outer margin, al-Amir al-alim Husam al-Din Malik al-umara Zahir Amir al-Mu'minin'; all in Kufic. Spengler & Sayles 25. Rare. Struck on a short flan, otherwise, very fine.
